Dr Elsie-Ida Grobbelaar is a General Practitioner with a special interest in aesthetic medicine. She qualified as a medical doctor in 1992 at the University of Pretoria, and thereafter opened a private practice in 1994, later joining the Medicross in Middelburg (Mpumalanga). In 2008 she moved to Richards Bay, joined the Medicross in Meerensee for 5 years and completed the Advanced Diploma in Aesthetics and Antiageing Medicine in 2012. In April 2014 she decided to open her own practice, Elìd Medical Aesthetics, concentrating on both family medicine, as well as expanding her aesthetics. Dr Grobbelaar is a member of the Aesthetic and Antiageing Medicine Society and regularly attends courses to keep abreast with the newest procedures and developments. She has a passion for the health and wellbeing of her patients, both physically and emotionally.

The Practice

Elìd Medical Aesthetics is located in the tranquil suburb of Meerensee in the town of Richards Bay on the North Coast of KZN, offering a range of aesthetic treatments which can all be done quickly and safely at the practice, in a relaxed private setting and ample safe parking. Consultations and treatments are done strictly by appointment in order to ensure the safety of the patients and to adhere to hygienic protocols.

Dr Grobbelaar works strictly on an appointment system. It is essential for safety and hygiene, as well as your privacy. The ​allocated appointment is for you alone ( not a friend as well!)

Time is allocated according to your needs, so please indicate what you require.
Please cancel your appointment if you are unable to attend- there is often somebody waiting for a time slot.
Payments must be done in full immediately after the consultation/procedure.
Cash, Card payment, Zapper and EFT are accepted.
Claims for Medical Aid must be submitted by the patient for reimbursement -it will not be done by the practice.
As a rule, aesthetic treatments are not covered by Medical Aid.
The initial consultation fee may be deducted from the procedure, depending on the treatment done.
Please be advised that only ONE person will be allowed at a time, except if a parent is accompanying a child.
You will be required to open a file and give your medical background.
You will be required to give consent for examination and treatment.
An examination and evaluation will be performed.
If possible treatment will be done.
A follow-up booking will be done for certain procedures.
For all procedures requiring injections, please do not consume any alcohol on the day or the day before the procedure, as this may predispose you to more bleeding and bruising.
Try to stop supplements (e.g. Omega) 3 days before the treatment to prevent bruising and excessive bleeding.
Always give any medical information regarding your health between visits.
It is VERY important to inform Dr Grobbelaar regarding any recent viral or bacterial infection, as well as Covid-19 infection history and vaccinations, as these may impact on the timing of certain treatments.
